Humbolt Park:

Humboldt Park, on the west side of Chicago, was oddly named for German naturalist Alexander von Humboldt, who had no connections to the city. Although the neighborhood has seen tough times, and housing prices are well below the city average, the neighborhood is becoming popular to Chicago newcomers. Prices are rising somewhat, especially for the large graystones that surround the park. The boundaries of Humboldt Park are Armitage Avenue to the north, Chicago Avenue to the south, Western Avenue to the east and Pulaski Avenue to the west.

Typical Rents
1 Bedroom $600 - $1,000
2 Bedrooms $800 - $1,600
3 Bedrooms $1,100 - $2,100

Average Buying Price
1 Bedroom $65,000
2 Bedrooms $73,000
3 Bedrooms $73,000
